Building Community Resilience (BCR) is a national collaborative launched under the auspices of Moving Health Care Upstream. The collaborative is led by George Washington University, and is supported by Nemours Children’s Health System as part of MHCU. The Building Community Resilience Collaborative seeks to improve the health of children, families, and communities by fostering engagement between grassroots community services and public and private systems to develop a protective buffer against adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) occurring in adverse community environments (ACEs)- the “Pair of ACEs”. Connecting community organizations (through a church health ministry or trusted food pantry, for example) with larger systems (including those in health care, education, business, law enforcement) can begin to build a durable network to improve community wellbeing.

When it comes to addressing the nation's critical health challenges, the greatest opportunity for lasting change often lives within public policies that affect #healthequity and well-being.

As we emerge from #COVID19 we can develop healthy children & a strong workforce for the future by prioritizing health & well-being early in life. We wrote this op-ed urging @POTUS to create a #WHOffice4Kids to meet our greatest challenges & place the US on a healthy path forward. https://twitter.com/Nemours/status/1353728067341062144
